“When this card appears it addresses the process of transmitting and expanding. It speaks of the actions required to establish ideas and concepts in order to make them take form in the conscious mind.”
“Air is one of four creative principles of Creation. The energy of air is transmitive, expansive, and conveying. The element is associated with the east quarter. In older traditions the color associated with air is blue, like the sky. In some modern systems the color yellow is associated with air. By some accounts this is because the yellow sun appears in the sky.”
“The card depicts a woman sitting on a grassy hillside. Between her hands is a swirling spiral of air energy. Below her is the Book of Shadows with the element of air lifting the script from the pages and carrying it off in response to the energy generated by the woman. She has magically taken the astral energy of air and made it manifest in its physical counterpart.”
“The crone of the cottage takes you to a young woman. She leaves you with her and returns to her cauldron in the woods. The woman tells you to watch with your new eyes. She then brings the palms of her hands close together. With eyes glazed, the woman begins to hum. The tone emanates as the vowel sound ‘E’ and it rises and falls in a mesmerizing rhythm.”
“As you watch the woman, you recall that ‘thoughts can become things’. Then between her hands a spiral appears, and from the spiral you see wind pouring out and lifting words from the book in front of the young woman. She rests her hands on her knees, smiles, and says, ‘And now, it’s your turn’.”
