“When this card appears it addresses the process of movement and flow. It speaks of the actions required to move and direct. When water appears, things will give way, flow, or dissolve.”
“The element of water is one of the four creative principles of creation. The energy of water is flowing, cleansing, and dissolving. The element is associated with the west quarter. In older traditions the color associated with water is green like the stormy sea. In some modern systems the color blue is associated with water because bodies of water can appear blue.”
“The card depicts a woman reclining on an embankment. Between her hands is a swirling spiral of water. Below we see a pool of water appearing in a dry riverbed in response to the energy generated by the woman. She has magically taken the astral energy of water and made it manifest in its physical counterpart.”
“The Crone of the cottage takes you to a young woman. She leaves you with her and returns to her cauldron in the woods. The woman tells you to watch with your new eyes. She then brings the palms of her hands close together. With eyes half closed, the woman begins to hum. The tone emanates as the vowel sound ‘O’ and it rises and falls in a mesmerizing rhythm. As you watch the woman, you recall that ‘thoughts can become things’. Then between her hands a spiral appears, and from the spiral you see water pouring out into a dry riverbed. She dries her hands on her dress, smiles, and says, ‘And now, it’s your turn’.”
